PEACE COLOMBIA EXPORT PROGRAM

SECTORAL PRODUCTION LINKAGES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF POPULAR FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ECONOMIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE EXPORT PEACE.

The “PEACE COLOMBIA Exporter Program” emerged in 2017 as an urgent and holistic response to the economic, social and security challenges in regions affected by violence, poverty and inequality in Colombia. These areas have historically faced a lack of competitiveness and productivity in different sectors of the Colombian economy, which has contributed to persistent rural poverty. At the same time, they face challenges such as unemployment, the presence of illegal armed groups and youth migration to urban areas. The urgency of a comprehensive transformation in these areas is evident.

To address this complex situation, the program adopts a comprehensive approach that considers productive, cultural and social inclusion, as well as the fight against poverty, inequality and the promotion of positive social impact and sustainability. Recognizing the importance of public-popular partnership, the program is introduced in the regions with the objective of identifying specific needs and working on productive chains to take them to the end of the export chain.
